I quilt on a Gammill Statler Stitcher. I provide digital edge-to-edge quilting in my smoke-free studio. Quilting on my Gammill Statler Stitcher ensures that I will quilt consistent stitches distributed evenly across your quilt ensuring you a professional and beautifully finished quilt!

Preparing your quilt+

Seven things that you can do to help me do my very best longarm quilting for you:

#1 Press all the seams on the quilt top and backing. Make sure that there aren’t any hard creases anywhere.

#2 Square up your quilt top as best you can. I can work with small discrepancies.

#3 Make sure that both ends of your backing are straightened and square. If they aren't squared off, I will need to do it for you and will add an additional $10 service fee on your invoice. This is necessary in order for me to be able to load your backing onto my quilting frame as straight as possible. Your quilt backing must be 8" longer and 8" wider than your quilt top. It can be bigger but NOT smaller. (Ex: For a quilt top measuring 60” x 80”, your quilt backing should measure 68” x 88” or larger.)

#4 Please check your quilt to for any pleats or puckers. If there are any of these on your quilt top, I will try my best to minimize them while quilting, but they might still show a bit.

#5 Clip off all loose strings around the edges of your quilt and on the back of the quilt to prevent them from showing through the top after it is quilted.

#6 Stay stitch around the outside edge of the quilt top. Use a 1.8 or 2.0 length stitch and stay within 1/8th inch of the edge. Also, check for any seams along the edge of your quilt that are coming open and secure them when necessary.

#7 Finally, mark the top edges of your quilt top and backing; use a safety pin to affix labels marked "TOP" to the appropriate edges. This is especially important for directional prints and patterns! No one wants to have an upside-down quilt!

Please note:

  • Do not apply any embellishments, buttons, etc. prior to mailing me your quilt top.

  • Do not baste your layers together. I will roll each piece on separate rollers on my longarm frame.

Shipping your quilt+

When mailing your quilt top to me, I highly recommend that you place it in a sealed plastic bag before putting it into the mailing box. This will prevent any damage from moisture, etc.

  • You are responsible for any shipping charges to and from my studio in Celina, TX. Please send me an email letting me know what the tracking number for your package is so that I can keep an eye out for it. Please understand that I cannot be responsible for packages that are lost or damage during shipment. If upon delivery, your package is damaged, I will notify you promptly.

  • Return shipping is handled by USPS Priority Mail, which includes $50 insurance. Be sure to indicate on the "Book My Quilt" form how much additional insurance, if any, you wish to be added. Any additional insurance fees will be added to your invoice.
