Pricing

How much does it cost?+

Your total cost will be based on the following:

  • quilt size
  • selected edge-to-edge design
  • selected batting type
  • thread charge
  • selected miscellaneous services, if applicable
  • shipping and handling

For customers in Texas, sales tax will be included for all goods and services.

Edge-to-Edge Design Pricing+

Edge-to-edge designs are priced based on density, ranging from 2.25 - 3.0 cents per square inch. More dense patterns take longer to stitch, require more attention and use more thread. There is a minimum of $50 per quilt top.

Ex: A quilt top measuring 60 inches x 80 inches = 4,800 square inches. 4,800 square inches x $0.025 per square inch = $120.

Choosing a design

Option 1) If you would like me to make suggestions (or would trust me to pick for you), I am happy to do so. You can describe what you have in mind and I will search my database to help you find just the right pattern.

Option 2) If you prefer to select your own pattern, take a look at the digitized quilting patterns on my site. The "Edge-to-Edge Designs" link is located under the "Quilting Services" menu, or you can click here. I have many more quilting designs than you see displayed on my website, check with me if you want to see what else I have available. You might also take a look at the photos in the Gallery to see if there's a pattern that you can envision on your quilt!

Option 3) If I don't have what you are looking for, you can browse commercially available digital pantos for purchase using the links below. Search the terms "pantograph" or "edge-to-edge" (E2E) to browse. If you find a design you like, write the design name and the website where you found it on the Book My Quilt Form. I will purchase the new E2E design, and an $8 purchase fee will be added to your invoice.

Batting Pricing+

Batting is a separate charge and is priced by the linear inch. Batting must measure 8 inches longer and 8 inches wider than your quilt top. The Book My Quilt form has a place to mark your batting selection. I have the following batting options:

  • 100% Cotton - 90" wide ($0.28 per linear inch)
  • Hobb's Heirloom 80/20 - 96" wide ($0.28 per linear inch)
  • Hobb's Heirloom 80/20 - 108" wide ($0.32 per linear inch)
  • Hobb's 80/20 Black - 108" wide ($0.32 per linear inch)
  • Hobb's Wool - 108" wide ($0.33 per linear inch)

Ex: For a quilt top 60 inches x 80 inches, I would add 8 inches to each edge for a total of 68 inches x 88 inches of batting. If a quilt's length can fit across the width of the batting, I will cut it that way to save you money (I know every little bit of savings helps). For this example, if you chose 100% cotton batting, your batting charge would be 68 inches (fits on batting sidways) x $0.28 per liner inch = $19.04.

Thread and Needle Pricing+

There is a flat fee of $5 for one thread color and a needle fee. I use So Fine #50 weight by Superior Thread. I have many different neutral colors as well as other colors like purple, red, blue, etc. You can choose one of the colors listed on the Book My Quilt Form, or I will be happy to pick a color for you. My personal style is to try to match or blend thread color with the lighter areas of your quilt. But this is YOUR quilt! Let me know what you would like!

Miscellaneous Services Pricing+

I offer additional services as described below. There is a section on the Book My Quilt form where you can select any of these that you would like me to provide. Thanks!

  • Press the top - $10
  • Press the backing - $10
  • Piece the backing - $15 per seam
  • Straighten the backing - $10 to $15
  • Repair holes or open seams - $10 to $20
  • Trim the quilt after quilting - $15
  • Make the binding - $0.10 per linear inch (Ex. 60" x 80" quilt = $28)
    • Please provide enough fabric for me to cut 2.5" bias strips.
  • Machine sew the binding to the front of the quilt - $0.11 per linear inch (Ex. 60" x 80" quilt = $30.80)
    • This only includes the first step of binding application. The binding will still need to be sewn down to the back of the quilt after this step.
    • If providing your own binding, please make sure that it is pieced, is pressed in half, and has enough length to go around the perimeter of the quilt plus an additional 12 inches.
  • Machine sew the binding to the back of the quilt - $0.12 per linear inch (Ex. 60" x 80" quilt = $33.60)
    • Note: This only includes the second step of binding application.
